The 2009 Lifetime Achievement recipient of the Governor's Award for the Arts, Andrew Bucci is considered one of the greatest of Mississippi's living artists. Raised in Vicksburg, he began studying with Marie Hull in the 1930's and in the 1950's received his Master of Fine Arts from the Art Institute in Chicago. When he returned to Mississippi he continued to paint for Mrs. Hull who became influenced by Bucci's style. His works from the 1960's are influenced by the Japanese woodblock prints which he studied.

Works in following collections; Arkansas Arts Center.; Brooks Memorial Gallery; Mississippi Museum of Art; Florence Art Gallery, S.C.; Delta State University; Hinds Junior College; Mississippi University for Women.

Member, Mississippi Art Association, Artists Equity, Washington Watercolor Association, (past President, Vice-President & Treasurer), Alabama Watercolor Society, Workshop Instructor- La Font Art Colony.
