Ann Seale is a native of Jackson, MS and attended the University of Mississippi where she obtained both a BFA and a MA in Art Education.

Ann has had ten years of experience in various media and now works primarily with oils and watercolors. She is currently employed at the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi as their education coordinator and is an adjunct art history professor.

She began studying watercolor in high school and has continued exploring the multifaceted medium since. Over the past several years, she has moved to work predominantly with oils.

Since relocating to Jackson, Ann has studied under a local artist who taught using the classic chiaroscuro technique. Her artwork in this medium has morphed to reflect her personality, and all pieces share a commonality seen in the use of deep reds. Still life and landscape are the favorite subjects of the artist.

Artist statement:

"Working closely with other artists on a daily basis has helped me to consider how to think about the process of creating original artwork. I am looking forward to broadening my focus and ideas for paintings as I progress as an artist."
