Walter Inglis Anderson

Walter Inglis Anderson was an oil painter, watercolorist, graphic artist, decorator, writer, potter, sculptor, naturalist, woodcarver and furniture designer. Among the most prominent of his works are the linoleum blocks he designed for prints and his original drawings and paintings from his life on Horn Island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

He received his art education from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and after studying in Europe returned to Ocean Springs to the family home at Shearwater. Original watercolors rendered on typewriter paper before his death are currently available through Brown's Fine Art. Walter Anderson died in 1965 at the age of 62.

Walter Anderson silkscreen prints are in limited supply following Hurricane Katrina but are still available for order and can be hand watercolored by Brown's artists to your specification using a fabric swatch, wallpaper, or your chosen colors. All silkscreens are printed on 100% rag acid free cream colored paper.

For more information on the availability of Walter Anderson's original watercolors, block prints or silkscreen reproductions available through Brown's, please give us a call at 601-982-4844 or 800-737-4844.
