Charlie Busler | Canvas

Artist's Bio

"My landscapes are a leap of the imagination where color becomes a representation of light and shadow. Rather than painting 'en plein air' my compositions are formed by intense observations of nature.  Such observations are meditative acts resulting from a focused, on location subject study accompanied by making mental notes and drawings.

Obscure form and line found in the environment are elevated into significant details on canvas.

Such details are usually unnoticed by the passing casual observer.  I return to my garden studio with a head fuII of images and start painting

My work has a powerful personal freedom about it

Painting is my passion and observation is my solitude."
